Johann Rosemeier
Johann Rosemeier has an interesting history in that his date of birth, home town, and most other information is unknown. His parents left him behind when they fled Germany after the First War, and he was left to fend for himself from a young age. Raised by various neighbors, good Samaritans, and finding food and money along the way, roaming from town to town.
When Johann, or "Wulf" as he was known throughout the Berlin district, decided it was time to join the Army in 1943, he used the address of his ex-girlfriend on his Military paperwork, since he had no home of his own. This former girlfriend had problems with abandonment and it became evident that she was more or less insane.
Johann had a fascination with fire and explosions from a young age. Though he had originally planned on becoming a Pionier in the Army, he slept late for formation when Pioniers were chosen, thus missing his opportunity.
Johann was hurried to the front in 1944, and although he had no experience with the weapon, he became an MG Schutze when his squad's original gunner was killed after being run over by a German personnel carrier. He had impressive upper body strength and hauled around the weapon and it's ammunition with ease.
In Johann's first combat deployment, he was in a squad with a sadistic NCO who falsified after action reports to give himself more medals, wore his uniform out of regulation, was fifty pounds overweight and spoke with an annoying accent. The circumstances around his death are unknown, but after he was killed, the remainder of the squad, including Johann "Wulf" Rosemeier and his ammo bearer, a young Alois Heinz found a new home in a squad in the 984. Grenadier Regiment led by a baby-faced Obergefreiter named Bodo Fehrmann. By a strange twist of fate, Alois' brother, Walther, was the assistant squad leader of this new squad, and the newly formed Gruppe stayed more or less the same for many months to come, allowing all of the men to become close brothers.
Johann was wounded once in the upper thigh. He found several American hand grenades, and decided to see if he could use them to dig a foxhole instead of his entrenching tool. He placed three of them in a small hole in the ground, pulled the pin on the fourth and ran in the opposite direction. Shrapnel from the grenades dug an impressive hole in his leg, but left the ground more or less unchanged. When Johann reported to the field hospital, one of the nurses working on him was none other than the same insane ex girlfriend whose address he had used on his Army paperwork. She had received word of his whereabouts and stalked him to this field hospital. After Johann had healed, she mysteriously disappeared. The circumstances of her disappearance are unknown.
Johann was accidentally killed in January of 1945 when he decided to see what would happen when he shot a stack of panzerfausts with another panzerfaust. He found out.
